15 - 21 August 2010
The Banks International Hockey Festival is held on
the beautiful Island of Barbados surrounded by white
sandy beaches, crystal blue seas, a wonderful tropical
climate and some legendary partying, making this festival,
one not to be missed. The Banks Hockey Festival has
built an impressive reputation drawing teams from around
the world and is open to teams in the following categories
- Men's, Women’s, Mixed and Men's Veterans.
The Festival unofficially begins a week earlier, giving
local clubs the opportunity to host friendly games and
for visiting teams to acclimatise to the heat, and of
course taste the traditional Banks beer and a few rum
punch's to help pass the evening by!
Most teams arrive on the island for the Friday night
socials. The Festival kicks off with some games on the
Saturday, followed by the traditional Opening Ceremony
on the Sunday evening. Games are played throughout the
week on astro turf and grass pitches with the finals
taking place on the following Saturday. Mixed with the
carnival atmosphere this festival is the place to be
in August!
