Cape Town International Schools/Clubs Sports Festival

21 - 26 July 2009
**The Cape Town International Festival will not be running in 2010, due to the Football World Cup**

The Festival, known locally as the ‘Big One’, has grown from strength to strength since the inaugural Hockey International Festival in 2003.

The 2009 Festival will be held from 21st to 26th July and the majority of the matches will be played at 3 venues - Hartleyvale Stadium, Stellenbosch University and UCT.

Entries will be restricted to 16 Boys & 16 Girls teams with players being aged under 18 as at 1st September 08.

Clubs and schools from the following countries have already confirmed their paarticipation in the 2009 festival, UK, Australia, Namibia, USA and top schools from all regions in South Africa.

Sporting Destinations has joined forces with Brothers Sports of South Africa to offer exciting travel packages to the schools sporting event of the year!

The aim of the Festival is to allow students to participate in top class hockey and netball, meet new people and enjoy the wonderful sights that Cape Town and the surrounding areas have to offer.

All teams compete in the first stage pool matches before splitting into a festival and plate competition, all teams play a minimum of 6 games before the finals day.
